SHOOTING TRAINING
Our Shooting Training program at Northstar Lacrosse is designed to help athletes refine their shooting mechanics, ensuring that they develop the correct form for maximum power and accuracy. We focus on the key components of a successful shot—proper stance, hand positioning, and follow-through—so players can consistently hit their target, whether from distance or in close quarters. Through a series of targeted drills, we work on increasing shooting speed, power, and precision, allowing players to make an impact in high-pressure situations. In addition to individual technique, we emphasize the importance of team dynamics, teaching players to recognize shooting opportunities and create plays that set up their teammates for success. By combining technical training with tactical awareness, our goal is to create well-rounded shooters who can contribute both individually and within the framework of a team.

DODGING TRAINING
In our Dodging Training program at Northstar Lacrosse, we focus on refining the essential skills that make a player a dynamic offensive threat. Our training emphasizes the importance of strong dodging techniques, ensuring players can execute quick, deceptive moves to beat defenders. We work on footwork to help athletes maintain balance, speed, and agility, allowing them to shift directions effortlessly during a dodge. As we refine individual skills, we also highlight the importance of team dynamics, teaching players how to recognize opportunities, read the defense, and create space for their teammates. By integrating technical drills with tactical gameplay, we ensure that players develop both the fundamental dodging skills and the strategic awareness needed to dominate on the field. The goal is to help players become confident, skilled dodgers who can break through defenses and make an impact for their team.

DEFENSE TRAINING
At Northstar Lacrosse, we focus on the key fundamentals that every great defender needs to succeed. Our Defense Training program is designed to help players build confidence and skill, starting with strong stick work. Whether it's checking, carrying, or passing, we ensure each player feels precise and in control. We also emphasize footwork, helping athletes stay agile, quick, and balanced as they move on the field. Stance and positioning are crucial, so we work with players to make sure they’re always in the right place at the right time. We know that defense is a team effort, which is why we also focus on team dynamics. We teach defenders how to communicate and work together seamlessly, creating a solid defense unit. Ultimately, our goal is to develop well-rounded players who can excel individually and contribute to their team’s success on the field.

Art of The Draw
At Northstar Lacrosse Camps, our Art of the Draw program is designed to help players master the critical skills needed at the draw circle. Led by experienced coaches, including former collegiate and professional players, we provide personalized instruction through small group training and hands-on practice. Our drills, game scenarios, and tactical discussions focus on refining technique, building confidence, and increasing game awareness.
We emphasize the importance of mental toughness, teamwork, and individual growth, creating a supportive environment where athletes can challenge themselves while also uplifting others. At Northstar, we focus on more than just winning the draw; we aim to develop players with a strong mindset who can approach every situation with composure and skill. Our Art of the Draw program ensures players become well-rounded, effective competitors both on and off the field.

GOALIE SPECIFIC TRAINING
The Northstar goalie program includes special small group instruction and evaluation, agility/skill coaching, fun and exciting goalie games, coaches talks and demonstrations, and a great instructional staff.
Our staff works together to craft high-quality reps, all while delivering expert advice and contagious motivation to every goalie involved. We believe in having fun along with breaking down complicated looks into small pieces, and teaching goalies how to compete-with and support each other at the same time.
Northstar strives to build a community of Goalies who come to be a part of something bigger than themselves, and leave as better individuals.
